2009
Barbara & Brian Asprey opened up their home for their annual fund raising tea. The tea as always was a gorgeous affair and much appreciated by all who attended.
COTEHELE Very wintry weather affected Cotehele which 'closed early' and the choir was asked to do 'only one or two songs' - in the event a small group of determined customers turned up suitably dressed in their warm clothing and we sang four or five numbers. We all then slid our slippery ways home!
"At the rehearsal on Tuesday, 10th November, the Ladies Group finished their meeting and came upstairs to surprise Jim Christophers with a 60th Birthday cake - HAPPY 60th, Jim!"

JULY
On the 11th July we had the joy of hosting the Jerabinka Children's Choir for a week. Last year our choir visited Opava in the Czech Republic and this was a return visit. Looking after forty young people and adult escorts was a real challenge and we are grateful to members of the choir, our ladies, and other people in the community, the churches, etc., who went out of their way to make the choir feel welcome, and found accommodation, provided meals and activities for the whole week! The Jerabinka choir performed concerts at Callington Church; at Fairplace Church, Oakhampton; St. John's Church, Torquay; a small concert at Bath Abbey; and finally joined the Tamar Valley MVC at their annual Gala Concert at St. Eustacius Church, Tavistock, which was a 'sell-out' with people being turned away from the door because there was not enough room for them. All in all a very successful, and happy tour for them on the performance level, and spoiled only by acts of mindless vandalism to their coach by Tavistock youths, one of the girl choristers had her money taken at Torquay, and a momentary scare when an adult escort collapsed at Torquay and had to be taken to hospital - thankfully, he was all right and was sent home the same evening. Pictures of the choir can be found in the Gallery
